Creative Ways to Clean Your Car at Home

In a recent post, we have talked about the household products you need to avoid when cleaning your car. Today, we are going to share with you those ordinary household items that can help keep your vehicle sparkling clean all year round.

Cornstarch

Clean your windows with cornstarch. Mix ½ cup cornstarch with 4 cups of water. Then, pour it in a spray bottle and apply it to your glass surfaces. Wipe the window with a washcloth or any other die-free rag. You can also use this household item as a natural deodorizer on your upholstery, sprinkle on and let sit for 30 min before you vacuum. Cornstarch can do wonders when removing grease or oil spots on your floorboards, mats, or upholstery. Cover the area with the product and let it sit for 12 hours so it will absorb the grease. Finally, vacuum and clean.

Essential Oils

Use essential oils to create amazing homemade air fresheners. Pick your favorite scents and check out our blog about making air fresheners for your car.

Rubbing Alcohol

If you are battling with stubborn stains, then rubbing alcohol could be the answer. With the help of a dye-free cloth dab the stain carefully. Also, a mix of a ¼ cup rubbing alcohol with 1 liter of water will help you to prevent frost from building up on your windshield in winter. Try it, you will be amazed by the results.

Olive Oil

Olive Oil is not limited to the kitchen. You can also use it to make your dashboard shine. After you have dusted your dashboard, apply a small amount of olive oil to the dash and rub with a clean cloth.

Toothpaste

Your headlights can benefit from the toothpaste’s chemical properties. Just apply toothpaste to the transparent plastic casing, and scrub with a brush. Wipe the excess away.
